Week 14

The most valuable aspect of this past week was completing the student surveys again. Reviewing the surveys and comparing them to the midterm really made me realize that I have improved and become a better teacher since the beginning. I think that the ratings that I received from the questions on my survey were a lot better this time than they were for the midterm. I even had a comment from one of my students that I improved a lot and that they think I am a good teacher. It made me feel like I am doing what I am supposed to be doing.
I think for me it was hard to get motivated to go back to school on Wednesday after having five days off. The end is so near and I feel like I am starting to get like all the students with the senioritis.
If I could change anything about the past week I don't really know what it would be. The week was short with only three days and they all went very smooth in all my classes. So, there really would not be anything that I needed to change for this week.

  1. I agree with you about evaluating the surveys. To me, it was great to see the students' perceptions of me and to see how much I have improved in their eyes. You're doing a great job and the kids are noticing it as well. Keep up the great work, 2 weeks to go!

  2. Reviewing the surveys and watching the video were valuable for me too. I am fascinated by the students who don't really seem to care and then can write the nicest things on the surveys. It sounds like you've grown in your teaching over the semester because your students can obviously see a difference and appreciate your improvements!

  3. It is always nice to get an insight into what the students think of us as teachers. I enjoyed looking over my surveys as well! I can understand your comment about senioritice I feel the same way. We have all worked very hard this semester and with the little time remaining we all just want the chance to enjoy some time to ourselves again. We will all make it and this experience will soon come to an end. Keep up the good work, see you on Monday!

  4. I am glad that you are reflecting on your growth and performance through the eyes of the students. The student surveys are probably two of the most important assessment tools we use in the Professional Semester. Congratulations Vicky!
